Improve stability and logging of post functions consumer handler

There are cases where the sqs consumer we're using stops handling the sqs queue messages. This causes the messages to stay in the queue unprocessed and clogging it up. In these cases reseting the app (which restarts the consumer) solves the problem. We should improve logging so that we get a clearer picture of what is going on.
