Description
Description
Template binaries are transferred through the Forge invokeRemote channel, which caps the payload on upload and download of templates, so any template larger than ~5 MiB can be neither downloaded nor uploaded:
- Download: GET /api/templates/{id}?projectId={id} returns the file in the Forge invocation response, which the Atlassian GraphQL gateway rejects with
ResponseTooLargeException: Response must not exceed 5242880 bytes in size (statusCode 509, errorSource GRAPHQL_GATEWAY).
- Upload: POST /api/templates/upload?installationtype=upload&id={id} sends the file in the Forge invocation request, which fails with HTTP 413 underlyingServiceCode_413 (errorSource UNDERLYING_SERVICE, service xen_invocation_service).
Pre-conditions
- A template larger than ~5 MiB. For the download case, the template must already exist.
How to reproduce
- Open Project settings → Apps → Xporter Settings → Templates (or global Xporter Settings → Templates).
- Try to Download or upload a template file with size > 5MB
Actual result/AttachmentsDownload fails; UI shows
- Network shows GraphQL error: Response must not exceed 5242880 bytes in size, statusCode 509, ResponseTooLargeException.
- Only large templates are affected
Expected result
Templates upload and download successfully regardless of size.
Version
