When Exporting Test Runs, the Document Generator is not exporting the Dataset Parameter values correctly if a Test Run contains Called Steps that make use of Data Set Parameters

Normally, when Data Set Parameters are used within a Test's definition, the Test Run will be generated with the corresponding Parameter Values, and Document Generator will export this Test Runs showing the correct values for each step iteration.

This is not true when the Parameters are used within a Call Step, as Document Generator will not export the parameter values.

 

Pre-conditions

• Have a Test with at least a Step with Dataset parameters.
  • 

• Have a any template that exports Test Runs installed, like Document Generator Template: Test Plan Report.

 

How to reproduce

• Create a Test that calls a Step with dataset parameters.

• • Fill in the parameter values in the Called Step Dataset Option:

• • 

• Create a Test Plan and add the Test.

• Create a the Test Execution for this Test and Run the Test. 

• • Verify within the Test Run, that we are able to see the called step parameter values:

• • 

• Go back to the Test Plan and use the Document Generator.

• Select the Test Plan Report to export the Test Plan.

• Note: Can be any report that exports the test run

Actual result/Attachments

• The Test Plan report have information about the Test Run.
• However, the called step will not contain the Parameter values.
• Rather, it shows the parameters names, as if they are not valid.

• 

 

 

Expected result{}

• The Document Generator should export the Test Run Step details as shown in the Test Run Details Screen.

• It should include the Parameter values defined in the called step of the Test, as it does when exporting a normal Parametrized Test's Test Run.
