Description
When migrating from Xray Data Center to Xray Cloud, gadget configurations are not migrated due to architectural differences between the two platforms. Although the underlying Xray data is successfully migrated, customers must manually recreate Xray gadgets in Jira Cloud after the migration.
Currently, there is no supported way for customers to:
- Identify which dashboards contain Xray gadgets in Data Center
- Understand the number and types of Xray gadgets in use
- Estimate the effort required to rebuild dashboards post-migration
This lack of visibility makes migration planning more difficult, particularly for customers who rely heavily on dashboards for reporting and operational decision-making.
As a user, I would like Xray DC to implement a solution that would help address this gap, such as:
- A report or export listing dashboards and associated Xray gadgets
- Gadget type identification (Test Execution, Test Plan, Coverage, etc.)
- Configuration data for the existing gadgets (such as the filters used)
Such a capability would not migrate gadget configurations, but would help customers better understand the scope and impact of the reconfiguration work required after moving to Xray Cloud, improving transparency and migration readiness.
