Epic link update takes too much when the epic link contains lots of linked issues

Dear vendor,

we are suffering some performance issues when some users set the Epic Link to some values.
In some cases, this operation are taken +30 seconds.
I enabled the TRACE log level for the following packages:

• com.xpandit.raven
• com.atlassian.jira.issue.index

Reviewing the log files, i have realized that:

• some Epic contains +3000 issues, many of them belong to project with XRAY activated.
• when the epic link value is changed, some(or maybe all) xray fields of all issues with the same Epic Link values are been updating.
• although the time taken for each not much high, as we have +3000 linked issues, this operation takes ~30 seconds, mostly re-indexing the issue(s).
• there are many queries to the database.
