The history/Activity log is not getting updated when editing Test Steps through REST API

Updating an existing Test Step through REST API is not getting reflected under the History/Activity.
Pre-conditions

How to reproduce

1. In an existing Test Step, make any changes to it through REST API
2. Go to the Test and check the History/Activity

Actual result/Attachments

There is no update for the changes made through the REST API

Expected result

The changes made in the Test Step should reflect under the History/Activity
