Description
Description
Add an option to disable users from creating a new Test Execution directly from a Test.
User friction
Users can create a Test Execution anytime directly from a Test. This can cause clutter in the instance, especially when Test Execution issues are not used.
Steps to reproduce (right now) / Actual Result:
- Create a Test
- Under Test Details, go to Test Runs Tab
- Create a new Test Execution
Actual Result:
User creates a Test Execution
IMPACT
What would improve if solved:
- Reduced clutter
- Improved Test Management and Tracking
- Admins have more control over Test Execution issues created
Impact on stakeholders:
- Admins have less cleanup work
- Better visibility on relevant Test Executions
- Improved traceability of executed Tests
Current workaround:
- Deleting unused/irrelevant Test Executions
- Instructing the team to be more mindful of creating Test Executions
- Creating a workflow to disallow adding Text Executions to a Test
CONTEXT & EXAMPLES:
Concrete example:
A tester creates a Test and wants to see how this looks when executing. Tester creates an Ad hoc Test Execution. Tester continues with other tasks. Relevant Test Execution is created by the Lead and used to execute the Test. Ad hoc Test Execution becomes unused and has to be deleted.Â
Workaround risk:
- Risk of deleting the wrong Test Execution
- Time-consuming deleting unused Test Executions
