    Description

      Description

When the Data field is disabled in the project configuration, importing Test Steps still displays “Data” instead of “Expected Result” in the field mapping screen during the import process.

Although the system ultimately maps the Expected Result correctly once the import is completed, the mapping UI shows “Data” instead of “Expected Result”, which is misleading for users.

This behaviour causes confusion, especially for users familiar with Xray Data Center, where the mapping interface correctly displays Action and Expected Result fields.

      Pre-conditions

      • Data field disabled in project settings
      • User attempts to import test steps from test

      How to reproduce

      1. Go to a project using Xray Cloud.
      2. Disable the Data field in the project configuration/settings.
      3. Open an existing Manual Test.
      4. Click Import(Three dots) → from test.
      5. Upload/import steps containing:
        • Action
        • Expected Result
      6. Proceed to the Map fields screen during the import process.

      Actual result/Attachments

      • The mapping screen displays “Action” and “Data” instead of “Action” and “Expected Result”.
      • The Expected Result column is not shown in the mapping interface.
      • This causes confusion because the field displayed does not match the actual imported content.
      • After the import is completed, the steps appear correctly mapped.

      Expected result

When the Data field is disabled, the mapping screen should display “Expected Result” instead of “Data”, matching the step configuration and the imported file structure.

The field labels in the import wizard should accurately reflect the enabled step fields to avoid confusion.

      Workaround

Enable the Data field in the project settings before importing test steps.
Once the import is completed, the Data field can be disabled again if needed.
