    Description

      Description

As a user, I should be able to access global Test Environments across all Projects, similarly to the existing behavior from Xray Data Center.

      User friction

Users must recreate, manage, or switch between Test Environments on a per-Project basis, creating unnecessary overhead and inconsistencies. This differs from the Data Center model, where Test Environments are centrally available and reusable.

Steps to reproduce (right now) / Actual Result:

1 - Create or identify a global Test Environment.
      2 - Navigate to a different Project.
3 - Attempt to use the existing Test Environment.

Actual Result: The Test Environment is not available across Projects and must be recreated or managed separately.

      IMPACT

      What would improve if solved:

      • Increased administrative effort.
      • Duplication of environment configurations.
      • Greater risk of configuration drift and inconsistencies between Projects.
      • Reduced efficiency when onboarding new Projects or teams.

      Impact on stakeholders:

      • Less manual configuration and maintenance
      • Easier access to standardized testing environments
      • Improved operational efficiency and reduced risk of environment inconsistencies

      Current workaround:

Users manually recreate or maintain equivalent Test Environments in each Project as needed.

      CONTEXT & EXAMPLES:

      Concrete example:

The Data Center deployment model already provides access to Test Environments across contexts, demonstrating a proven and familiar user experience that users expect.

An organization with multiple Projects uses the same staging environment for validation and testing. Today, administrators must configure and maintain that environment separately for each Project. With shared Test Environments, the same environment could be reused across all Projects.

      Workaround risk:

      • Configuration discrepancies between Projects.
      • Increased maintenance burden.
      • Higher likelihood of human error during manual setup and updates.
      • Additional time and cost are spent managing duplicate configurations.
