Description
Description
In the Test Execution filters panel, when selecting Components, only the first 15 Components listed alphabetically are displayed in the dropdown. The remaining Components can still be found while searching.
The following improvements would be helpful:
- Allow administrators to configure the maximum number of Components displayed in the dropdown.
- Provide an option to display all available Components.
- Support scrolling or lazy loading so users can browse the complete list while still retaining the search functionality.
User friction
For projects with a large number of Components, displaying only the first 15 entries makes it difficult for users to discover and select components, especially for new users who may not know the exact component name to search for.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open a Test Execution
2. Go to the Tests section
3. Open Filters
4. Select Components
Actual Result:
Only the first 15 Components are displayed in the dropdown. Other Components are only accessible by searching for their name.
IMPACT
What would improve if solved:
Users would be able to browse and select Components more easily without needing to know the exact Component name.
It will help make the filtering experience more efficient.
Impact on stakeholders:
End users will have an easier time browsing and selecting components
Administrators would have more flexibility over the number of Components to be displayed.
Current workaround:
If the Component is not displayed, users need to search for the Component name.
CONTEXT & EXAMPLES:
Concrete example:
If a project has more than 15 Components and the desired Component is not included in the first 15 alphabetically displayed entries, the user has to search for the Component manually. This can be difficult for users who are not familiar with the available Components.
Workaround risk:
Users may assume only the displayed filters are available.
It will take additional time to locate the correct Component.
