Description
Description
When filtering the Xray Storage page by an Evidence filename prefix that matches a large number of files, the filtering operation fails after 15 seconds with the following error:
xray.export.filters.set-error — timeout of 15000ms exceeded
For example, the customer has many Evidence files with similar names, say,
Evidence-1.txt, Evidence-2.txt, Evidence-3.txt,...
Filtering Storage using the common prefix Evidence results in the timeout error.
However, when the same filter is narrowed by adding additional criteria such as time period, project, or format, the results are returned successfully.
This suggests the issue may be related to the number of records evaluated/returned by the filter and/or the filtering operation exceeding the configured 15-second timeout.
Pre-conditions
Have an Xray instance containing a large number of Evidence files with a common filename prefix, for example:
Evidence-1.txt Evidence-2.txt Evidence-3.txt ... Evidence-N.txt
How to reproduce
- Navigate to Jira Settings >> Marketplace Apps >> Xray Settings ** >> Storage.
- Search with the common prefix text, for eg: Evidence- and observe the results.
- Narrow the filter search criteria with other filters, say project, format etc and observe the results.
Actual result/Attachments
The Storage filtering operation does not return the matching Evidence files.
After approximately 15 seconds, the operation fails with the error:
xray.export.filters.set-error timeout of 15000ms exceeded
Whereas, filtering with narrow search criteria shows the filtered Storage elements.
Expected result
Filtering Storage by a filename prefix should successfully return the matching Evidence files, even when a large number of records match the filter.
