Test Coverage is not correctly working when using the Jira Parent Field to link a Story with a Custom Issue Type

Test Coverage is not correctly working when using the Jira Parent Field to link a Story with a Custom Issue Type.

 

Currently, all Test Coverage feature works when setting a Story Issue as a child to an Epic Issue using the Parent Field. However, it is not working when the Parent Issue is another custom issue type.

 

It happens even if the Epic and Custom Issue Type are set to the same hierarchy level.

 

It also extends to the Traceability Report.

 

Pre-conditions

• Have an Epic Issue, a Story Issue and a Custom Issue Type configured as Requirement Issues in Xray.

How to reproduce

• Create a "Custom Issue Type" Issue
• Create a Story Issue.
• Add some Tests to the Story Issue.
• Add the "Custom Issue Type" Issue as Parent to the Story Issue:

• Repeat the same process with the Epic and Story Issues.

Actual result/Attachments

Test Coverage won't show in the "Custom Issue Type" Issue.

However it will show in the Epic Issue Parent.

Expected result
The Test Coverage should work for both the Epic Issues and Custom Type Issues when using the Parent Field to link it as a parent to a Story.

Workaround:

The Test Coverage will still work if we link the Parent Requirement Issues to the Stories using the "Linked Issue" features with the Link Type defined in the Test Coverage Settings.
