    Description

After copying a Jira production site that contains Xray data to a sandbox environment, we’ve observed unexpected behavior on the Testing Board. The production and sandbox instances are somehow connected, even though they should be completely independent. Additionally, it seems like the Xray folder hierarchy is being migrated, which is not supported, and in fact, no folder data should be transferred during the site copy.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. On the Jira production site:
        • Create a project.
        • Install and configure Xray.
        • Create folders on the Testing Board and move tests into them.
      2. Create a sandbox for the production site. Here is the Atlassian doc for this: https://support.atlassian.com/organization-administration/docs/create-a-sandbox/
      3. On the sandbox, install Xray.
      4. Perform a site copy from the production site to the sandbox. Here is the Atlassian doc for that: https://support.atlassian.com/organization-administration/docs/copy-production-data-to-sandbox/

      Once the copy is completed:

      • On the sandbox, access the same project and open the Testing Board. (Refresh the page)
      • On the production site, access the testing board for the same project. (Refresh the page)

      Observed Behavior:

      • An error message appears when refreshing the Testing Board on the production site after accessing it in the sandbox.
      • The folder hierarchy is visible when accessing the Testing Board in the sandbox, but an error message is also displayed.

      • Reindexing both instances/projects does not resolve the issue.
